Our governor came on the air a few days ago to tell us how we have the most covid cases in the USA and then not even 2 minutes later announces we are now moving to Phase 3 reopening. If that wasn't stupid enough tonight on the news they ran a story about local bars saying they are no longer going to follow any of the phase guidelines and will happily reopen in a couple of days. they know they won't win the election, so they're going to leave a nice big poo in the white house for november. they have no reason not to.

That being said, I'm so sick of the approach taken to this by a lot of media. You've got the right wing media pretending this whole crisis is in the rearview mirror, which is obviously just flat out retarded when we've still got ~800 people dying every day and millions of people are still out of work. But this left wing media is being disingenuous as well, it's just harder to spot. First, the good news: In 24 states, the number of new coronavirus cases decreased this past week compared to the previous week. Now, the bad news: In many of those states, testing has also decreased. High school sports are what are going to be a problem here. My dad took my grandpa over to a football game last week because it's outdoors and people were recommended to wear masks. Well, when my dad got there he said he didn't see a single mask, the bleachers were completely full, and people were lining the street nearby to watch. For a goddamn junior high football game. My dad and grandpa thankfully stayed in his pickup and watched from the end zone parking, but I wouldn't be surprised if we have a bunch of cases popping up soon.
