I've always gotten into planning/throwing Halloween parties (for 'grownups') and seeing everyone show up for uniquely good times. What a pisser that this year, 10.31 actually falls on a Saturday *and* coincides with a full moon. Even with masks and costumes, my GF and I won't be hosting a party this year. We're still discussing the logistics of if there could be some way to at least accommodate the trick or treat kids, but this will likely be the *first* year without Jack o' lanterns on our porch, vintage Beistle decorations and our extensive playlist of Halloween-themed hard rock blasting out.

That being said, I'm so sick of the approach taken to this by a lot of media. You've got the right wing media pretending this whole crisis is in the rearview mirror, which is obviously just flat out retarded when we've still got ~800 people dying every day and millions of people are still out of work. But this left wing media is being disingenuous as well, it's just harder to spot. First, the good news: In 24 states, the number of new coronavirus cases decreased this past week compared to the previous week. Now, the bad news: In many of those states, testing has also decreased. High school sports are what are going to be a problem here. My dad took my grandpa over to a football game last week because it's outdoors and people were recommended to wear masks. Well, when my dad got there he said he didn't see a single mask, the bleachers were completely full, and people were lining the street nearby to watch. For a goddamn junior high football game. My dad and grandpa thankfully stayed in his pickup and watched from the end zone parking, but I wouldn't be surprised if we have a bunch of cases popping up soon.
